DESCRIPTION:We are so happy to announce that the Garden on Wellness Program is back!\nThe Garden of Wellness will consist of weekly activities every Monday beginning June 16th and running until August 18th. Core Members will have the opportunity to engage in accessible gardening and wellness-based activities. \nAttached below is a program overview that will provide you with some information about the program and weekly activities. Please take a look and see what activities might interest you! \n  \nHere is some important information for the Garden of Wellness Program: \n*** Program will run every Monday at the South Zone Community Garden from 1pm-3pm (unless Monday is a stat\, then the program will be moved to a different day) \n*** We will send out an email 2 weeks before each activity \n*** Please make sure to RSVP to the  eventsupport@beingastonished.com email one week prior to the event \n  \n****Please note at the present time Astonished! staff and volunteers do not provide personal care (washroom needs). \n*** Weather conditions are unpredictable. Our general rule of thumb is to postpone an outdoor event if the percentage of the chance of rain/storms is 50% and higher with no indoor space readily available. SUMMARY:The Big Sky Summer Adventure Program
DESCRIPTION:Your Summer Adventure Awaits You!\nThis program will consist of a weekly outdoor activity for the Astonished! Core Members that will begin mid-June until mid-August! \nHere are some important details for the Big Sky Summer Adventure Program: \n\n\nWe will send out an email 2 weeks before each activity. This email will come from the eventsupport@beingastonished.com email address.\nAlthough we are attaching a brochure outlining all of this summer’s adventures\, we will only be taking RSVPs on a weekly basis. This means you need to wait for the poster to come out for each event prior to RSVPing.\nPlease make sure you RSVP to: eventsupport@beingastonished.com\nYou must RSVP a minimum of 7 days before each activity unless otherwise directed in the weekly email.\nParatransit times must be given a minimum of 2 days before each activity and please make sure your times are within the time frame indicated in the weekly email.  It is not possible for us to staff the event outside of the window given\nWeather conditions are unpredictable – our general rule of thumb is to postpone an outdoor event if the percentage of the chance of rain/storms is 40% and higher\, with no indoor space readily available. We will typically make the call no later than 2 hours before the event – please note that weather conditions can change suddenly\, so a call may be made closer to the start time of the event. In the case of sudden inclement weather\, we ask that families/group homes work to secure transportation home for their Core Member at the event.  Astonished staff will work with families and group homes to assist in making the arrangements.\nThis year\, we are requiring that when you RSVP for an event that you provide a phone number for the emergency contact is and phone numbers for staff who are on that evening/day. We need this information so that if we are cancelling the event\, we can call. This information is also required for if someone is sick\, we can also give a call to have that Core Member picked up/transportation available. DESCRIPTION:Our ninth week of the Big Sky Summer Adventure is approaching soon\, and we are so excited \nOur ninth event for this year will be a Campfire Night on Tuesday\, August 12th!\nCore members will gather at Glencairn Park and enjoy an evening fire\, along with food\, mingling\, and games. \nPlease RSVP and provide the following information by August 5th:\n \n\nEmergency contact phone number for the evening of Tuesday\, August 12th\nPhone numbers of staff who are on this afternoon (we understand that sometimes there are staffing changes\, so if there is a change for another contact person for that afternoon\, please provide us with the phone number as soon as you can!)\n\n*** Paratransit: Please note that we require Paratransit bus times or transportation details to be provided a minimum of 3 days before the event.
